Addiction
Addiction is not just tea, coffee or alcohol. It can be anything you feel you cannot physically stop. To be addicted means completely allowing your urges to take over without any consideration of the consequences. Addiction needs to be taken seriously, and it takes time to rework and learn new habits for the better.
Addiction isn’t about the substance or behaviour itself, but its about the relief it provides and what it helps suppress. It often stems from past experiences, especially trauma, where the brain seeks quick escapes from pain. As these behaviours become normalised, they shape how we see ourselves and connect with others, reinforcing the cycle.
